From the world of nursery rhymes comes a new hero.
Now a man, Jack Vine, aka Jack of Jack and the beanstalk, is dedicated to fighting crime. He and his partner, Tiny Giant, aka the Giant's son, form their own private investigating business. Friends for 15 years, our hero's find life is stranger than fiction as they solve some strange cases, meet new friends and all around have a good time.
In a pond far, far away, immersed in waters so polluted as to be uninhabitable, there exists a gaggle of herrings. Many of these scaly scoundrels are dead, others twisted and maligned, but, rest assured, all are completely bonkers. Yes, sit back, relax and allow the madness free reign as the ‘pond herrings’ extol their many opinions about life, current events and the pitiable (innocently sexist), existence of their host, Rob Kosy.
So I started writing about this character named Thorodin Smarthammerson. Originally, it was all about what my life would be like if I was in this fantasy world of Deesceria. Sure, it would be normal and boring but aspects like career, hobbies, appearances and etc would be different. Well after amassing a paper sheaf box full of writing, I decided to change it to a story about Fenix Shimian, an upgrade of Thorodin. And in doing so, I needed an actual novel for him. So I decided to write 20 short stories, developing the novel along the way.

DesertRat: Lance Morrow wrote an article for Time in 1995 on which he talks about sexual abstinence for teenagers. Somewhere in there he mentions 'the swamp of the id.' That word ("id") stuck with me for a while, it is a Freudian term. I would like to see someone use it somewhere. Another couple words I'd love to read in fresh work are 'ennui' (Constance Woolson in "Miss Grief") and 'debutante' (seen in a movie). DR1 day 4 hours ago

Routh: Ok, I have tracked down a bug with the Drupal and the password reset system. If you're logged in to the site when you request a password reset, it will ask for your current password when resetting. In order to fix this, use the link to get your temporary login, then logout with 'My Menu' > 'Log out' - Once you do that request a password reset again and it will not ask for your current password. The Drupal developers have been made aware of this issue and are working to resolve it.3 days 7 hours ago
