A boat of buffoons!
Better a ship of fools than a town and temple of fools! That’s what I say!
A town and temple of fools surrounded by age-old walls made of fools! How tightly they wedge themselves together these clay-brains, these brick-heads!
While we ride the seas and the seas ride us they wallow in their rocky puddles, in their stagnant foolishness, their seriousness.
A foamy meniscus of mucus is surely their highest hope.
Only crabs would make home in such a place, and crabs walk sideways!
Let the seas bring my foolishness into full fruition I say!
Let my over-abundant foolishness spill out, let it capsize this vessel!
And although I may drown in my own ocean so that the sea and I are indistinguishable, I shall not sink into the abyss like these dead-weights, no; I am too much of a fool for such seriousness.
While I may weigh a ton, I am light on my toes! I am the nimble jester of the waves!
And when it is that I am nothing more than rip-currents and ocean spray,
I will offer myself to a smiling sun that it might breathe me up.
A lake afloat, I will be downpours and storms to new ships and new fools.
Woe to those who do not evaporate!
