Funny Lines

Hey gang, got a question/request for ya.

I am currently engrossed in Terry Pratchet's novel Going Postal, and it was just a couple of lines in the fantastic tome that got me chuckling today.

If you haven't read the book, It is (without giving anything away) about a reprieved con-man who is forced run the city's long dead post office.
Anyway, Moist Von-Lipwig (the protagonist), as you might expect from a con-man, soon uses his cunning & guile to the benefit of his new employ.

This is a line from quite near the end of the novel:

He went round the back of the Post Office, and was about to slip inside when a figure in the shadow said, 'Pissed!'

'I suspect you mean Psst?' said Moist.

This is just one of many funny lines & exchanges throughout, & it brought to mind other quips, lines & interactions from books, films, TV etc.

Like Gary Oldman's character Drexel in the movie True Romance. Drexel turns to Clarence Hurly (Christian Slater) & famously says:

'Now I know I'm pretty. But I ain't as pretty as a couple'a titties!'

Does anyone else remember any funny lines or exchanges they have watched, read or heard?

Show you care, please share!

I remember one
One of them said, "My laptop crashed." Another replied, "Next time you buy one of those, remember to check for a pilot license, then it won't crash."
==Relationships are like glass. Sometimes it’s better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting it back together.==

Watch "Who's on first?" by the American comedy team Abbot and Costello.
A classic line from Going
A classic line from Going Postal; when Moist first meets Tolliver Groat who is clearly wearing a toupee but insists, "It's all mine, you know, not a prunes".
Oh, and not exactly a 'funny
Oh, and not exactly a 'funny line' but Steve Martin's list of 20 'something betters' on the subject of big noses, from perhaps my favorite film of all time 'Roxanne' is worthy of mention. Why did Steve Martin stop being funny?
Ah, 'the prunes'. Yes, savage
Ah, 'the prunes'. Yes, savage, brilliant. I too am a Steve Martin fan &, like your good self, lament his fall from the summit of mount hillarious. Planes Trains & Automobiles? The House Sitter? But my favoutite of all time, All of Me! I know this isn't a funny line but it is a hilarious scene. The scene where Steve needs to go for a wee-wee and the woman inhabiting the other half of his body won't let him go. Their to-and-fro tussle on the street is comedy folklore.

Oh and one that I have just come across, mr_cushions, though I am pretty sure that you will not count yourself a fan of the man who wrote it. 'The world's oldest calander girl is stripping off at the age of 94. her tits start in October & go all the way to December. It's tastefully done, though - nothing shown below the waist. So no nipples, then. From 'Work! Consume! Die!' by Frankie Boyle.

Never sharpen fish in the presence of doves!

Ah yes, "All of Me", a really
Ah yes, "All of Me", a really great film, I remember that scene well, he did so many classics in the early days - Planes Trains/The man with 2 brains/Lonely Guy etc... and now he churns out drivel like the re-vamped pink panther films, truly a criminal waste of a very funny guy. Frankie Boyle? ... well we cant agree on everything Rob...
Didn't think so, savage. I
Didn't think so, savage. I did draw a line under some of the subjects he touched on. Yes, my humour is often crass, sexist, crude and profane. But then there's Frankie Boyle.

Never sharpen fish in the presence of doves!
